EventSentry offers reporting features through a collection of web pages. The web reporting feature ships with ASP pages which are installed on any IIS web server on your network that can connect to the EventSentry database.
The web reports can be localized and can be displayed either in English, German, French, Portuguese, Japanese or Korean.
Most of the features included in EventSentry can write data to an ODBC database. This information can then be queried through the open-source web reports from any server or workstation running IIS.
The built-in authentication allows you to create users and groups and assign granular permissions to them. This makes it possible to give unprivileged users access to the web reports by only giving them access to pages that do not contain sensitive information. Additionally, permissions can be assigned to computer objects, so that users only have access to information generated by certain computers. This makes it easy and secure to setup a customer portal for providers of hosted monitoring services.
Furthermore, the built-in authentication allows users to maintain their customized settings for the web reports, which will be retained for future sessions.
The web reports can also be configured to utilize NTFS permissions from the operating system, or not require any authentication (not recommended for most environments).
Any query in the web reports can be saved as a report, so that complex searches can be repeated with a single click. EventSentry supports standard reports for every feature, as well as advanced reports for event log related searches. Reports can be exported and imported, and a set of standard reports is included with EventSentry.
