Encrypting traffic with the built-in PostgreSQL Database

Using SSL Encryption (Step 1 of 5)

The built-in EventSentry database uses PostgreSQL and ODBC to transmit data between the agents and the database. By default, data transmitted over ODBC is sent in clear text, which may be a concern in high-security environments.

PostgreSQL supports SSL encryption so that all traffic between the agents, web reports and database is encrypted. This tutorial will walk you through the steps required to enable encryption in EventSentry. Many parts of this tutorial are generic and can be applied to other environments as well.
