Error message "The installer has detected that the EventSentry service is installed but a needed path is missing." when installing EventSentry

The EventSentry installer will display the above error message in two cases:

• The computer where you are running the EventSentry installer has not previously had the full EventSentry product installed on it, but does have the EventSentry agent (service) installed. In this situation, please remove the current agent through Add/Remove Programs and run the installer again.

• You are upgrading from an earlier version of EventSentry, but a required registry value is missing from the EventSentry configuration. You can manually add the registry value by opening up the registry editor "regedit.exe" and navigating to:

32-bit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\netikus.net\EventSentry
64-bit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow64Node\netikus.net\EventSentry

Right click "EventSentry" and choose "New" -> "String Value". Name the new value "installdir" and set its value to the directory where EventSentry is installed (i.e. "C:\Program Files (x86)\EventSentry" or "C:\Program Files (x86)\EventSentryLight").

The installer should now run correctly.
