Yes — EventSentry Web Reports supports LDAP authentication, allowing users to sign in with their Active Directory credentials.

Overview:

By default, Web Reports uses built-in authentication, where passwords are stored and managed within the application. For environments with a Windows Active Directory infrastructure, enabling LDAP support is recommended.

When LDAP is enabled, you can create user accounts of the type Windows Authentication (LDAP), which delegates credential validation to your domain controller. This eliminates the need for users to maintain a separate password for Web Reports.

Enabling LDAP Support

  • In Web Reports, navigate to Settings -> Security & Accounts.
  • Toggle LDAP Support to Enabled.
  • Click Configure LDAP Server and enter the IP address or hostname of a domain controller.
  • Save your settings (scroll down the page; the Save button is in the bottom-left corner). Users can now be created with Windows Authentication (LDAP) as their account type.
  • The next time you log in, you will need to enter your domain credentials:

Managing Users

Users are managed from the Users tab. Add or remove users using the user management icons. When LDAP support is active, each account can use either authentication method.

Note: Ensure the Username field matches the domain account name when configuring LDAP authentication.

Managing Groups

Groups are managed from the Groups tab. Any privileges and permissions assigned to a user can also be assigned to a group, making it easier to manage access at scale.

Note: Remember to add the new user to a group and set their profile according to their specific needs.
