When you try and import a backup configuration reg file it tells you its not a valid event sentry configuration file.

Also when you import a package it crashes the software, tried this on multiple machines.

Sorry you're having issues with package. Can you confirm that you are on the latest major version 3.3?

As far as the backup/restore is concerned, did you just backup the configuration and then try to import it on a different host? Please let us know which menu options you chose to do the backup and the restore.

In regards to the package import crashing the management console, what package did you try to import?

Hi Its.3.3.1 Build 106. I have tried exporting by selecting the host computer on the left and then export and also tried to import a backup file (taken by going tools, options, and backup)

WIth regards to importing packages, I had simply deleted some packages I do not need, created a custom package and exported these, but no matter what you import it crashed the application, when you restart the import was successful but just the application crashes.

What I am trying to achieve is to be able to install the application on multiple machines and then load the config file to set it up as needed, I only want to monitor server hardware and 3 custom events, so want everything else disabled, so I have configured it as I need and exported the settings, but cannot get it to import correctly.

Would you be able to zip the .reg files which are causing problems, and email them to support [at] netikus (dot) net so that we can take a look? This should definitely not happen, and initial tests to reproduce this didn't yield any results. Simply reference the URL of this post.
