Starting with version 3.2 of EventSentry, the network services component (service) is available as both a 32-bit and 64-bit executable. New installations will automatically install the 64-bit binary (on 64-bit operating systems), but existing 32-bit services will not automatically upgraded at this time.

If you wish to update an existing 32-bit "Network Services" service to 64-bit, follow the steps below:

  1. Open the management console

  2. Navigate to Network Services

  3. Stop the service

  4. Uninstall the service

  5. Install service, point to Browse dialog to the EventSentry Installation directory

  6. Copy the %SYSTEMROOT%\Syswow64\eventsentry\temp\es_networkservices_arp_mac.tmp to %SYSTEMROOT%\System32\eventsentry\temp

  7. Copy the %SYSTEMROOT%\Syswow64\eventsentry\temp\es_networkservices_arp_status.tmp to %SYSTEMROOT%\System32\eventsentry\temp

  8. Copy %SYSTEMROOT%\Syswow64\eventsentry\mac_vendor.txt to %SYSTEMROOT%\System32\eventsentry

  9. Start the service

  10. Navigate to %SYSTEMROOT%\Syswow64\eventsentry in Windows Explorer

  11. temp\es_networkservices_arp_mac.tmp

  12. temp\es_networkservices_arp_status.tmp

  13. Delete the logs folder

  14. Delete es_network_svc.exe

  15. Delete mac_vendor.txt
