EventSentry 3.2 and newer use a different installation method for the network services, please see knowledge base article 306.

To install the network services on a remote host, first add the host in the other subnet to the EventSentry management console machine and deploy the agent. Once you have deployed the agent, open the EventSentry installation directory (such as C:\Program Files (x86) EventSentry) on the host where EventSentry was installed, and copy the following files into a temporary folder, for example "c:\temp":

  • es_network_svc.exe
  • eventsentry_gui.exe
  • msvcp100.dll
  • msvcr100.dll
  • QtCore4.dll
  • QtXml4.dll

Once you've gathered those executables and DLLs, copy the temporary folder with those items over to a temporary folder on the host in the other subnet. You will then copy and paste several files from the temporary folder to the EventSentry agent folder. The EventSentry agent folder location varies depending on 32-bit or 64-bit operating systems:

    32-bit systems: %SYSTEMROOT%\System32\EventSentry
    64-bit systems: %SYSTEMROOT%\Syswow64\EventSentry

Copy the following files from the temporary folder to the EventSentry agent folder:

  • msvcp100.dll
  • msvcr100.dll
  • QtCore4.dll
  • QtXml4.dll

Then you can open the EventSentry management console on the host in the other subnet by logging onto the remote host, opening the temporary folder and double-clicking the eventsentry_gui.exe file. Once the management console opens, you can click on "NETWORK SERVICES" and then click "INSTALL". When the folder prompt opens, select the temporary folder that contains the es_network_svc.exe file.

Once installed, you can then configure the Syslog, SNMP and/or ARP components under "Network Services" and start the Network Service on that machine.
