If EventSentry is monitoring a large network or a network with hosts across a WAN, then updating the configuration might take a long time. Fortunately, EventSentry offers a command line utility that will allow you to automate the remote update process. Using the Windows Scheduled Tasks will even allow you to schedule the update for off peak hours to avoid network traffic. Using the Remote Update Utility will assure that all of your agents are always running with the latest up-to-date configuration.
This tutorial will walk you through the step required to automatically update the configuration every night. We will demonstrate creating a batch script and setting up a Windows Scheduled Tasks.
