Consolidating information to the EventSentry database

Introduction (Step 1 of 5)

Getting Started

Consolidating information to a database is one of the many great features offered in EventSentry. By setting EventSentry to write to a database we can search and view a wealth of information from our servers and network. Whether you are looking to consolidate event log messages on your network or to quickly view the recent applications installed on a specific machine, the EventSentry Web Reports will make your life much easier.

EventSentry supports various databases, including Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL and Oracle. Please see the requirements for an up-to-date list of all supported databases.

This tutorial will show you how to create a database, add the appropriate tables and user accounts, and configure EventSentry to log information. If you setup a MSSQL or MySQL database with the installer, then you will not need to take the following steps, but this information may help grant a greater understanding of EventSentry.
