Verifying the Update

After running the upgrade we will want to verify that EventSentry has been updated successfully.

Verify that the connection string is pointing to the correct database. The test button on the ODBC target should show the "Test Successful" message.

Next, double check the database to make sure that the new tables were created.

Open the SQL Server Enterprise Manager and note the blue boxed tables which are the EventSentry tables, and the green boxed tables are newly added which are:


  ESHeartbeatPingTracking

  ESMotionTracking

  ESNessusKB

  ESNessusLog

  ESNessusPort

If the newly added tables are not present, then Database Setup Wizard needs to be run.

Verify IIS is configured properly.

Verify the Web Reports configuration has been updated properly
